We're introducing the ability to shop in ChatGPT—a new way to find products, compare options, and buy—all within the conversation.

When you ask ChatGPT for product recommendations, you'll now see shoppable product cards with photos, reviews, and pricing. If you find something you like, you can complete your purchase right in ChatGPT with a streamlined checkout experience powered by Stripe.

How it works

Shopping in ChatGPT combines the power of conversational AI with a seamless purchasing experience:

1. Ask for recommendations — Describe what you're looking for, whether it's "running shoes for trail running" or "a gift for someone who loves cooking"

2. Browse and compare — ChatGPT shows you relevant products with images, ratings, prices, and key details to help you make a decision

3. Buy with one click — When you're ready, complete your purchase directly in the conversation using secure checkout

Personalized recommendations

ChatGPT considers your preferences and conversation context to suggest products that match what you're really looking for. Unlike traditional search, you can have a back-and-forth conversation—refining your criteria, asking follow-up questions, and getting explanations about why certain products might work for you.

For example, if you ask for headphones, ChatGPT might ask about your use case—commuting, working out, or studio recording—before making recommendations tailored to your needs.

Seamless checkout

We've partnered with Stripe to power secure payments. When you're ready to buy:

• Save your payment details — Optionally store your card for faster future purchases
• One-click checkout — Complete purchases without leaving the conversation
• Secure payments — Industry-standard security protects every transaction

Your saved payment information is encrypted and stored securely by Stripe. You can manage or remove your saved cards anytime in your ChatGPT settings.

Privacy and transparency

We've designed shopping in ChatGPT with privacy in mind:

• Clear sourcing — You'll always see where products come from and who's selling them

When you make a purchase, only the information necessary to complete your transaction is shared with the merchant.
